I remember being young and hearing, “Not everyone in life is going to like you.” Back then-not really a big deal. A few words that I’d add to that, that bear a little more weight, “Not everyone in life is going to stick around, in fact most of them will leave you.” Or maybe that isn’t really the kind of thing anyone tells anybody, its just something we figure out for ourselves and accept.

I had an epic thought today. More often than not I feel like dental school is an incredible amount of fun. Especially these days since we’ve started using our handpieces and doing preparations and restorations. I could be in there for hours, drilling, singing songs in my head and having to replace the rubber dam 8 times before even starting (yeah that’s happened) and still be happy at the end of it. And then I remembered, if you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life. And I think I’m on my way to never working a day in my life. This is fantastic.

Just found out I’ll have to move into my new place earlier than expected. I think this quote has a lot of truth to it. I’ve always wanted to live alone and have complete control over my life, but the thought also is scary. The last time I had an apartment to myself was in the final stretch of DAT studying and that was pretty lonesome and stressful. I’m sure the DAT had something to do with that… This time around I think I’m more ready. Bring it life.
